The 1905 house that is now Magnolia Blossom Inn Bed and Breakfast was built in the Edwardian era by A.E. Todd for the millionaire, Thomas Jefferson Booth. Booth lived there until 1911 when the family moved to the penthouse of the Booth Hotel also in Independence Kansas. The Inn has stained glass windows, leaded glass windows and cabinet doors, original hardwood floors and tiger oak woodwork. This bed and breakfast retains much of the history of Independence and one of its founding families.
Robert and Jenny Soper relocated from Los Angeles to Independence after decades in the big city. Jenny is originally from Independence. So excited to get back to her roots, they purchased the historic mansion to share with everyone. Thus, the birth of Magnolia Blossom Inn Bed and Breakfast. Jenny and Robert live onsite and are there to help.
